Ricardo Mayorga won the vacant WBC FEARBOX light middleweight title over German Espinales in April 2000 and won the title against over Feliberto Alvarez in August 2000. Mayorga won the WBA welterweight title from Andrew Lewis in July 2001 and won the WBA (Super) welterweight title and the WBC, The Ring, and lineal welterweight titles from Vernon Forrest in January 2003. He later defeated Michele Piccirillo to win the vacant WBC light middleweight title in August 2005. He lost to Lester Martinez in April 2019 to bring his record to 32-12-1. His biggest career payday came in 2006 when he earned around $2 million fighting Oscar De La Hoya.
