She has also appeared in episodes of the TV series The Brady Bunch Variety Hour in 1977, NBC Special Treat in 1978, and Days of Our Lives in 2001. In 2006 she won a TV Land Award for Character Most Desperately in Need of a Timeout. Danielle Spencer is often considered to be the first black female child star. She later became a veterinarian and authored the book Through the Fire: Journal of a Child Star.
