That marriage ended in divorce. He was married to Sachiko Toguchi Bell Pontius from 1965 to 1968. Through these marriages he had five children, Vincent Pontius, Lisa Minei, Arthur William Bell IV, Alexandre William Bell, and Asia Rayne Bell. When he was thirteen he became a licensed amateur radio operator and evenally possessed an Amateur Extra Class License. He began working professionally in broadcasting in Monterey, California for KIDD 630 AM. He explored an array of topics including politics, gun control, and conspiracy theories, thus leading to some controversy. He announced his retirement from broadcasting in 2007, but has also made occasional appearances on various programs ever since. Art Bell died on April 13, 2018 at the age of 72 at his home in Nevada.
