In June 2006 he defeated Adan Hernandez to win the vacant NABO Lightweight title and bring his record to 18-0. Peterson won the interim NABF Lightweight title with a win over Fernando Trejo in June 2008 to bring his record to 27-0. He suffered his first loss to Brandon Rios in September 2010 to bring his record to 30-1. Peterson defeated Luis Eduardo Florez in January 2018 but his win was overturned for failing a post fight test. Anthony Peterson had a draw against Argenis Mendez in March 2019 to bring his record to 37-1-1.
